Invited by South Carolina Department of Commerce, Carolinas Chinese Chamber of Commerce (CCCC), China Civil Entrepreneur Delegation paid a short but important visit to Greenville South Carolina.

Led by President of CCCC Richard Yang and Vice President Michael Wang, the delegation arrived at the Clemson University International Automotive Research Center.

There are 10 counties in upstate South Carolina which are located in the core area of the fastest growing Southeast US. It features mild weather, convenient transportation, abundant resources. The most important is that people are unsophisticated and rustic; local government have greater attentions on the economic development and eagerness in attracting outside investment and solid policy in place. Because of this, Upstate South Carolina has been on the top areas in attracting foreign investment in the US.

Due to the fast growing of automotive industry in the area, Upstate South Carolina has surpassed Detroit as the most concentrated area in the automotive and its related industries.

The delegation also visited the Furman University which is a private university with long history , and a top US language and art school, for its academic achievements in Chemistry, History, Music, Religion, Political Science and Psychology.

The delegation attends the welcome dinner and forum which are held in Melvin and Dollie Younts Conference Center at Furman University.

Invited by North Carolina State government and Carolinas Chinese Chamber of Commerce, China Civil Entrepreneur high-level business delegation visits North and South Carolina and Washington DC for a ten-day investment investigation and exchange activities.

The visit was sponsored by China Civil Entrepreneur and co-sponsored by Dacheng Enterprise Institute. Its main purpose is to promote private economical exchanges and commercial value discovery between China and US enterprises.

This is a delegation of Chinese entrepreneurs, politicians and industry leaders who are interested in making foreign direct investment in the United States. They decided to stay in the Carolinas on this trip, with stops in Charlotte, Asheville and Raleigh as well as Greenville, Charleston and Myrtle Beach, S.C.

The members are from the China Civil Entrepreneur group which is one of the most influential chambers of commerce and includes leaders from various industries.

The Charlotte reception is a great success. Participants include representatives from Mayor’s office, Charlotte Chamber of commerce, Charlotte WTA, Charlotte Foreign Exchange Association, Charlotte Regional Partnership and North Carolina Department of Commerce.  Delegates from China Civil Entrepreneur are impressed with the receptions. The delegation heard presentations from the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina, the Charlotte Regional Partnership and the Greater Gaston Development Corp. Mayor Roberts hosted dinner for the guests at Charlotte Country Club.

On February 16, 2017, in G50 Cuisine Raleigh, a group of six master chefs led by Mr. Han Jiguang, President of Dalian Cuisine Association, brought Chinese Cuisine Night at the state banquet level to Raleigh the capital of North Carolina.

On March 18, the delegation of Charlotte led by Mayor Jennifer Roberts visited the high-tech mass entrepreneurship and innovation Zhong Guan Cun base at Nanning. Wei Zuo, Deputy Director of Nanning High-tech and Qiang Guo, the base Chief Operating Officer showed the delegation around.

Mr. Guo gave a detailed introduction of the innovative products developed and commercialized by the companies from the high-tech zone. The delegation also visited Google Adwords at the Guangxi Experience center.

Charlotte is a sister city of Nanning. During the three-day stay in Nanning, the Charlotte Delegation mainly explored and learnt from Nanning about how the city is developing itself in terms of Smart City, “China Green City” and Modern Transportation Construction. Both counterparts also discussed about the possibility of mutual investment and cooperation in areas such as finance, city construction, bio-medicine, and electrical information technology.

On March 14, 2017, Mayor Roberts of Charlotte and her delegation visited Center of China and Globalization (CCG). A formal discussion was held on the CCG operations, research achievements of CCG in Sino-US relationship, new US administration and policy, and financial and trade cooperations between China and US.

Mayor Roberts indicated that Charlotte will attract more China investment. She appreciated the presentation from CCG and expressed interest in further cooperation and improving relationship between Charlotte North Carolina and China.

On March 16, Guangdong provincial leader and Mayor of Shenzhen-Mr Qin Xu received Mayor Roberts of Charlotte in Shenzhen. The two mayors signed “a memorandum of friendship exchange” for Shenzhen and Charlotte. The two cities officially became sister cities. Up to now, Shenzhen has signed sister city memorandums with eighty-three cities in the world.

The two mayors believed that Shenzhen and Charlotte have a lot in common such as financial industry, science and innovation, green and low carbon economy, education and cultural exchange. And those are the areas that the two sister cities can work together. According to the memo, the two cities will start the extensive exchange and cooperation in their common areas for equal benefits, mutual trust, and common development.
